No major Administrative Reshuffle after May 23

Srinagar, May 15 (RNA): Dispelling the rumors of a major overhaul in the Civil administration after May 23, when the Modal Code Of conduct will end the government Wednesday said that there will be no bulk  transfers of officers as has been anticipated by some people. Speaking to RNA a senior bureaucrat in the Civil Secretariat said that transfers were a routine practice and was an administrative exigency but added the government has no plans of making ‘bulk transfers’.

“Transfers are a routine thing. This is not a popular government where people would expect the cabinet to make huge reshuffles. In Governor’s rule, transfers of officers is being done when such need arises.” The senior officer told RNA.

Pertinently rumor mills were abuzz from last few days about government intentions of making a major shakeup in the civil and police administration after May 23. However, the Governor Administration may fill up the vacant posts at various levels which may involve transfers of some officers both at Secretary and HOD level. There are also reports that some Deputy Commissioners may also be moved out from their places besides some changes in the low rung administration. (RNA)
