Basharat Bukhari opposes Hartal on his Brother’s death anniversary in Home Town Kreeri

Says, downing shutters makes people suffer, shatters economy

Srinagar, Jun 14 (RNA): In an extremely generous move, National Conference leader and former minster Syed Basharat Bukhari has opposed the strike call given by Trader’s federation Kreeri on the eve of his brother and World famous Journalist Syed Shaujat Bukhari’s first death anniversary. The Rising Kashmir media group founder was killed by gunmen last year on the same day outside his Srinagar office along with two security guards.
According to RNA, all bussiness establishments , transport and educational institutions were shut today in his home town Kreeri in District Baramulla amid various functions aimed to pay tribute to the great son of the soil. Surprisingly however, late Shujat’s elder brother and former minster Syed Basharat Bukhari urged local traders to call off the strike saying, closing down the bussiness would make people suffer which can’t be a tribute to one of the greatest pioneers of Social activist like Shujat Bukhari who throughout his life strived for the prosperity of the common people.
” I am against hartals. Because it makes people to suffer. So I talked to Traders Federation representatives Syed hafizuulah bukhari and transport union representativ Ab Ahad
Mir to desist from it and made them to reopen the shops . They did it” Mr. Bukhari told RNA.
