Authorities retrieve Prime cooperative land from encroachers in Bijbihara, Anantnag

Locals appreciate SDM, demand retrieval of other encroachments also

Srinagar, May 15 (RNA): Authorities have retrieved nearly eight kanals of cooperative land from the illegal possession of Sumo Stand operators at Bijbihara on Wednesday. Sources told RNA that led by SDM Bijbihara Ab. Rashid Khas, a team of revenue official, police and other enforcement agencies sealed the site and the approach road of the land and handed over to the cooperative department. Speaking to RNA, the SDM Ab. Rashid Khas said that this was a prime land worth nearly 4 crore rupees and was illegally occupied by the local Sumo Stand operators. He said many attempts were also made in the past by the administration to evacuate it but politics came in the way every time. The SDM added that this time he was adamant to retrieve the land come what may and the job was done after two back to back attempts by him and his team.

Meanwhile locals have appreciated should also be r the SDM and Police for retrieving the land and said the other encroachments should also be retrieved. (RNA)
